FUE hair transplantation
Description
FUE hair transplantation is the safest and most effective method available on the market today. It is much less invasive than a surgical hair transplantation – it is done without scars or stitches. It involves taking groups of hair follicles and transplanting them in place of the defects.
Hair for transplantation is taken from areas that are not sensitive to male hormones. Hence, the hair follicles relocated to the balding areas retain their properties and we are guaranteed that the hair will not fall out.
Advantages of FUE transplantation
- no stitches or scars after transplantation – during the treatment the doctor does not use a scalpel, but a fine needle
- short convalescence period – rapid healing process allows quick return to daily activities
- lasting results – no risk of graft rejection or allergic reactions
- possibility to take grafts from the occipital area and the sides of the head
- the possibility of achieving high hair density
- the treatment can also be carried out on beard hair, eyebrows or eyelashes
Before each treatment, we perform a thorough examination.
The entire treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic.
It can be performed on patients of all ages.
Indications
Hair transplantation is often the only effective method for problems such as:
- androgenetic alopecia in men and women
- alopecia due to burns, trauma, irradiation or inflammation of the skin
- hair loss in the eyebrows, eyelashes, moustache, beard area
- surgical scars
- deepening curves
- balding top of head
- thinning hair
Course
Prior to the treatment, a detailed history, exclusion of contraindications and a detailed discussion of the expected results are necessary. The doctor checks the condition of the scalp and determines at what stage the balding problem is. If necessary, orders the necessary tests.
Blood-thinning medication should be discontinued a few days before the treatment. One day before the treatment, it is advisable to give up alcohol and strong coffee.
FUE hair transplantation begins with the administration of a local anaesthetic. The doctor then takes the follicles for transplantation from the occipital region. In the area where the follicles are taken, the hair is shaved off. In the next stage, the doctor will prepare the transplantation area by creating small holes into which he will place the previously retrieved follicles. A thin needle is used during transplantation to reduce the risk of pain. Finally, the doctor applies a special ointment to speed up the skin’s healing process.
The transplantation can take several hours. The treatment time depends on the number of grafts taken.
After the treatment, the doctor provides all the necessary information on skin care and the recovery period. There may be a slight swelling on the skin for 3 to 4 days after the treatment. The scalp takes approximately 14 days to heal. During this time, physical work should be limited and the sauna and swimming pool should not be used. For a period of 20 days after the treatment, you should refrain from competitive sports or going to the gym. After a few weeks, a follow-up appointment should be made. After about 1-2 months the hair may start to fall out, but this is a natural reaction of the body and is not a cause for concern. The hair will grow back in about three months.
Expected effects
Hair transplantation provides long-lasting results. The hair that will grow back as a result of the transplantation is thicker, stronger and shinier.
You generally have to wait around nine months for the natural effect of a hair transplantation.
The transplanted hair looks the same as the other hair, with the same colour, texture, angle and direction of growth.
